As anticipated at CES 2015, LG has officially unveiled its new curved screen smartphone named LG G Flex 2, which is a successor to G Flex, possessing 810 Snapdragon Processor and a large number of high specifications.
According to the announcement, LG G Flex 2 retains many important features of its predecessor, such as the ability to bend to a certain extent and a cover that itself can heal scratches caused by external impacts.
However, the phone has been improved and significantly upgraded thanks to the P-OLED screen technology, which allows the screen to be covered with an additional glass layer manufactured by LG experts. According to LG, this layer improves the phone’s endurance by 20%. In addition, the curvature radius increases from 400 mm of G Flex to 700 mm of the LG G Flex 2, promising to bring the buyers the most impressive viewing experience from different angles.
Moreover, the ability to recover from scratches of G Flex 2 has achieved a quantum leap, witnessing a decrease from 3 minutes on G Flex to 30 seconds in ideal room temperature.
As for configuration, G Flex 2 is equipped with a smaller screen than the old 6-inch one, which is now 5.5 inches, running 810 Snapdragon Processor at the speed of 2 GHz, RAM 2GB DDR4 and the 16/32 GB memory that can be expanded up to 2 GB via the memory card slot.
The LG G Flex 2 uses a 3,000 mAh battery, which is an advantage that the battery can be charged 50% in just 40 minutes. Besides, the phone also supports many advanced connectivity such as Wi-Fi 801.11 ac, 4G LTE, NFC, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB 2.0.
Behind the G Flex 2 is a 13-megapixel camera integrated with optical stabilization (OIS) and the laser auto focus feature similar to LG G3, along with the 2.1-megapixel front camera. It is 9.4 mm thin, and weighs 152 gram. It is installed Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system before being released in the public.
In the statement, LG did not forget to introduce three new Gesture Control feature including Gesture Shot with an aim of helping users to easily capture the perfect selfie photograph, Gesture View making it easy to check your photo preview and Glance View playing a role in displaying important information such as time, messages, missed calls with just a slide on the screen even when the screen is off.
LG G Flex 2 will have two colors including metallic silver and red flamenco for users to choose from. The phone will be officially on sale at the end of this month in the Korean market and then continue to penetrate many other markets around the globe in the near future.
